THE DAYS ARE EVIL.
THE DAYS ARE EVIL.
The days are evil
Lord, here I come this day,
Weak and feeble,
I pray you, lead me.
For the days are evil.
THE DAYS ARE EVIL.
So you must bring to your walk with the LORD on your knees now:
- Consistency in pursuance of a godly lifestyle which will keep you steady, focused and undistracted from your divine task:
- Patience, which makes you bear all difficulties without grumbling, complaining or succumbing to the ubiquitous detours and excuses that seek to destroy your soul:
- And perseverance, which crowns you with the strength of character, making you continue on the right track despite difficulties,oppositions, and discouragement; keeping you from crumbling under the weight of the load of cares of this life.
Patience will calm your spirit this day when consistency begins to wane under the weight of frustrations. It is just at that point that perseverance steps up its act to bring about the much-needed stability and clearer vision.
The lure of a luxurious lifestyle in faraway godless Babylon away from a devastated Jerusalem did not distract young Daniel from his resolution not to defile himself with the king’s rich food. Check out what will be presented to you today as sumptuous gourmet and remember it was exactly what made Eve err. The fruit was not poisonous or genetically engineered. It was perfectly good for food, pleasant to the eyes, and desirable to make one wise. So no matter how nutritious and inviting it comes this day, keep yourself from any form of defilement.
The fear of painful and unprecedented death by incineration in King Nebuchadnezzar’s heated furnace did not shock the three Hebrew faithful into denying their God. They stood their grounds against the corruption of an evil king even when others had filed. And God took note for their decision glorified Him.
The fear of being shredded by starving lions could not frighten Daniel from what he had come to accept as the will of God for him at certain set times of the day. Check out the stuff of life that will seek to take you away from devotion to God in prayer and quiet time today. Resist every counsel of Satan and do the will of God. He will take note and take the glory that flows from your acts of obedience, with of course the attendant blessings going to you.
Noah was not disturbed or deterred by the monstrosity of the evil of his day and their scorn of his chosen lifestyle, rather he waded through those grinding and tortuous 120 years toiling at the Ark and at the same time preaching to people who never for once showed any interest. Haba! What a man; what a faith!
Our Lord Jesus when He saw and experienced in Gethsemane what will befall Him in the next seven days still made up His mind to do nothing but the will of God despising the shame and pain to the shame of Satan, the glory of God and our benefit.
Why not decide this day to press on to the upward calling of God in your life knowing you are not your own ( that is if you have already made a decision to hand over the welfare of your life to Christ in God.) since you have been bought by a price.
Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus(the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the
[supreme and heavenly]
prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions;and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that.Phil.312-16 AMP
Fantastic text to round up with. There was something our Lord Jesus had in mind for the Apostle when He took hold of him that day on the road to Damascus; Apostle Paul made a decision to take hold of that thing. He knew there were a plan and purpose of God in and for his life, and so did not want to toy with it. Beloved of the Lord, do you know that there is a plan and purpose of God for your life this day, and why who would anyone want to fritter it away? I believe none. Why not ask Him now to reveal His will for your life this day and give you the resolve to focus on it; the strength of character and perseverance not to be distracted or dissuaded from being all that He wants you to be this day. He is abundantly able to perfect what concerns you this day; including all your fears and pains,real or perceived.
Lord, here I come this day, weak and feeble, I pray you, lead me.
Take thou my hand, and lead me-choose thou my way!
“Not as I will,” O Father, teach me to say.
What though the storms may gather,
Thou knowest best;
Safe in Thy holy keeping, there would I rest.
Take thou my hand and lead me- Lord I am Thine!
Fill with Thy Holy Spirit, this heart of mine:
Then in the hour of trial strong shall I be,
Ready to do, or suffer, dear Lord, for Thee.
Take Thou my hand and lead me, Lord, as I go;
Into Thy perfect image, help me to grow.
Still in Thy own pavilion shelter Thou me;
Keep me, O Father; keep me close, close to Thee!
